Visual Communication is very important in Health, but I think it is more important to delight audiences with colorful and interesting campaigns, in order to catch the reader’s attention making the message useful and unforgettable.
The main point of visual communication is to leave a message in the reader’s mind, make the people think about good behaviors (in Health) if that is the case.
In terms of the web sites viewed in class:
I think those are very old fashioned, nothing to do with the new millennium, full of technological advances. Those sites were created to educate parents, more specifically the new mothers who are looking for explanations and different ways to raise their new born. If the web site contains information about babies, it should have pastel colors, a site grateful for the eyes with nice fonts. It is not necessary to have a faded site to provide information about health, statistics or facts.
By casualty, in my job, we had a conference in witch we evaluate a web site created by the department of health about breast feeding. The main point of everyone was the same I expose at the beginning of this comment, once more, the web sites created to provide information specially on the internet should be written at four level language, the font must be 12 or bigger in lower case and colorful; With this I don’t mean to post colors like a circus, on the contrary something fresh and vivid.

Interesting post, Eneyda! Did you find any of the parent-to-parent websites? What do you think of those?
Not yet but i am still looking for them
Colors can enhance or distract, I learned that as a designer. Imagery does the same on websites. The problem is to find something that pleases everyone and that is a challenge.
